Starting Line Founder-

Christine Guevara, MOTR/L is the primary instructor for exercise classes. She has worked as an occupational therapist for over 20 years with a specialty in neurological disorders. This exercise center is not a therapy clinic but an opportunity to engage in exercises specific to the needs of individuals with PD, Stroke, Brain Injury and/ or our senior community.  

Our Student Volunteers

Students are trained within the Beaumont High School Medical Technology program for two years prior to beginning their internship with Starting Line Strength and Stability Center.  Students have an opportunity to train for a variety of medical careers as part of their academic program. Opportunities provided to interact with individuals who have medical needs improve students abilities to access these careers and/ or colleges of their choice.

 

Student training has included:

* Fall prevention/ Fall recovery

* Nutrition

* Exercise assistance

* Dementia

* Communication Skills

* CPR

* Patient Transfers

* Vitals

Christine is the board President, founder. and head coach for Starting Line Strength and Stability Center.  She teaches the medical technology pathway (3 year program) at Beaumont High School which assists students to prepare for a variety of medical careers.

Monica is a Beaumont USD teacher and the mother of two Beaumont teenagers.  She is highly committed to her community and the progress of student education!  

Patricia Patalsky

Treasurer. 

Background as and Administrative Assistant, retired

Patricia finds peace in helping others and has long time experience as a highly effective administrative assistant for insurance, accounting, and baking production businesses.  She enjoys baking as leisure and adores her three children and four grandchildren.
